Acclaimed 2004 CD Still “Only Album
You Need to Buy This Year”
Coincides With Blockbuster Summer
Tour by Legendary Band
(Los
Angeles) Hailed as “easily the band’s finest moment
in over 20 years” by All Music Guide,
Jupiter’s Darling — the 12th studio album by
Heart — will return to the record racks and
digital music stores this summer, re-released via
Adrenaline Music Group (distributed by ADA). At the
time of its original release four years ago, it was
praised by England’s Rave magazine as
“probably their best album to date” from the
influential and beloved rock legends and “the only
album you need to buy this year.”
With over 30 million albums sold and a long list of
hit songs to their credit since the band leapt to
stardom in 1976, Heart remain as compelling and
creative as ever — a fact proven by the rapturous
critical reception accorded Jupiter’s Darling.
Associated Press observed how the album proved
that “the hit-making sister act of Ann and Nancy
Wilson is back with a vengeance,” while
Entertainment Weekly noted that “on their first
studio album in more than a decade, sisters Ann and
Nancy Wilson delivered their hit formula.” Its
re-release will whet appetites for Heart’s next
album, which they will record this year.
Jupiter’s Darling
earned a long list of superlative comments from the
media: “Boasting some of the best songwriting ever
from the group, [it’s] a welcome return to form” (San
Diego Tribune); “[A] crackling album… a
thoroughly enjoyable listen… pure classic” (Rave);
“neatly crafted, finely detailed with unexpected
instrumentation… the vocals shine” (Entertainment
Weekly); “Jupiter’s Darling delivers far
beyond expectations; it’s easily the band’s finest
moment in over 20 years… proves in spades that
Heart is a vital and creative rock’n’roll unit and a
force to be reckoned with” (All Music Guide).
Heart’s enduring influence on popular music was
recently proven again with the appearance by the
Wilson sisters on the top-rated “Idol Gives Back” TV
charity special, performing their 1977 hit song
“Barracuda” with contemporary superstar Fergie,
noted as a “highlight” of the show by Associated
Press. The Heart song catalog is one of the most
popular sources of material for “American Idol”
competitors, and this year’s finalist Carly Smithson
cites the band as a prime inspiration.
The re-release of Jupiter’s Darling will be
followed by Heart’s three-month, 40-plus date
nationwide summer tour with fellow rockers Journey
and Cheap Trick. After 32 years of memorable
rock’n’roll, Heart continues to win new generations
of fans while adding to and expanding their
formidable musical legacy.
