Corporate Punishment founder steps out
with new label THC : MUSIC via Rocket Science/RED
November 22, 2011
11/22/2011Los Angeles, CA Corporate Punishment Records co-founder/President Thom Hazaert has formed a new label, THC : MUSIC (aka Thom Hazaert Company), to be distributed and marketed Worldwide by Rocket Science Ventures, via RED in North America, and through Worldwide partnerships in other territories, and has already built an impressive roster of established and up and coming Rock/Metal talent. 2012 will see new releases from LA’S Oedipus, who have already seen massive success in Europe, including 4 #1 Rock singles in Poland (Tres Las, Burn It Down, Jack and Ginger, and Gimme a Chance, currently topping the charts of Polish Rock giant ESKAROCK), (ex IDJ) Primer 55, (Ozzfest/Divine/MCA vets) Slaves on Dope, Dirge Within, First Jason (featuring Ari Lehman, aka Jason Voorhees from the cult horror film Friday the 13th), Knockout Kid, (CPR alums) Trigger Point and more. THC was founded in 2011 by Thom Hazaert, former President of Corporate Punishment Records, a 15 year industry veteran, who as an Artist Manager/A&R Rep helped launch the careers of Chimaira, Switched, Depswa, Bleed the Sky, Adema, and more. Also a seasoned industry marketing vet, and co-founder of Total Assault Marketing, being involved with a myriad of successful 2000’s major label releases from artists including Bloodhound Gang, Limp Bizkit, Korn, Snot, Filter, (Hed)pe, Nine Inch Nails, Static-X, Cold, Guns N’ Roses, Pitchshifter, Staind, and more. CPR was formed in 2001, and via Navarre/Universal developed and released high profile releases from Ghost Machine (Five Finger Death Punch’s Ivan Moody), Allele, Switched, Amity Lane, Trigger Point, Victory Pill (members of Pitchshifter and Prodigy), Never Enough (ex-18 Visions) and more. In addition to full Worldwide licensing and development deals, THC is also putting together an ala carte digital distribution/label services solution for developing artists in partnership with Rocket Science and digital aggregator DashGo, set to roll out in first quarter 2012. “Artist development seems to be a thing of the past,” says Hazaert. “And as someone who has built a career developing artists, obviously I have strong feelings about its place in the record business. So, much like I did with CPR for all those years, I have a great mix of established and up and coming talent, and we are all working to build their brands together. No 6 album, 360 deals. Just a fair, honest, reciprocal partnership. Obviously the music business is not one-size-fits-all, and until now, for some reason, record deals were. Now we can offer bands a viable solution and a development partner, regardless their level of need." Rocket Science is a full service Artist services company and Record Label offering marketing, promotion and distribution services to prominent former major label artists looking for a modern, Artist-friendly outlet. Formed by former MCA/Universal exec Kevin Day, Rocket Science has brought hugely successful releases to the marketplace from artists as diverse as Angels and Airwaves, Nonpoint, Filter, Smashing Pumpkins, Liz Phair, George Lynch, John 5, Manraze (featuring Def Leppard’s Phil Collen and Sex Pistols’ Paul Cook), Ace Frehley, Lo-Pro, and Yanni. www.facebook.com/thomhazaertcompany Contact: Thom Hazaert - (818)905-5080 thomhazaert@gmail.com |
