THE OTHER SIDE OF MORNING Signs a Worldwide deal with THC : MUSIC/ROCKET SCIENCE
December 22, 2011
LA’s THE OTHER SIDE OF MORNING have signed a Worldwide recording deal with THC : MUSIC/Rocket Science Ventures who will release the band’s forthcoming debut LP Letters from Your Love, The Madman on 2/14. Produced by Doug Grean (Stone Temple Pilots, Velvet Revolver), Letters, is 11 tracks of pure psychedelic swagger, fusing jarring melodies with atmospheric soundscapes and thought provoking lyrics, garnering the band comparisons to artists as diverse as Pearl Jam, Muse, My Morning Jacket, Tv On The Radio, and Pink Floyd.

Releases will be distributed in North America though Sony/RED.

And although Letters is the band’s “debut”, TOSOM is by no means a “new” band, in fact, the core of the band, vocalist/guitarist James Werner, bassist Kyle Wyman, and drummer Tom Yagodinski have played together for over 20 years. And it was in those formative years at Luxemburg-Casco High School that they first met Thom Hazaert, who would become a career-long support lifeline, and eventually sign the band to their first record deal some 20 years and 2000 miles away.

High school friends who headed West to pursue a dream and never looked back, an “overnight” success 2 decades in the making, TOSOM has a better story than anyone could write. In 2011 the band made it to the final round of voting for a Grammy nomination, watched their video for “Cracking Up” get added into national rotation on Fuse on Demand, and built a huge national following, all as an unsigned band.

THC was founded in 2011 by Thom Hazaert, former President of Corporate Punishment Records, a 15 year industry veteran, who as an Artist Manager/A&R Rep helped launch the careers of Chimaira, Switched, Depswa, Bleed the Sky, Adema, and more. Also a seasoned industry marketing vet, and co-founder of Total Assault Marketing, being involved with a myriad of hugely successful 2000’s major label releases from artists including Limp Bizkit, Korn, Snot, (Hed)pe, Nine Inch Nails, Static-X, Cold, Guns N’ Roses, Pitchshifter, Staind, and more.

Rocket Science is a full service Artist services company and Record Label offering marketing, promotion and distribution services to prominent former major label artists looking for a modern, Artist-friendly outlet. Formed by former MCA/Universal exec Kevin Day, Rocket Science has brought successful releases to the marketplace from artists as diverse as Nonpoint, Filter, Smashing Pumpkins, Liz Phair, George Lynch, John 5, Manraze (featuring Def Leppard’s Phil Collen and Sex Pistols’ Paul Cook), Ace Frehley, Angels and Airwaves, Lo-Pro, and Yanni.
